Chicks Rule

Second entry for the newest Unity Challenge: Tweet Tweet! Many have used this cute chick with the glasses but it was the first image I saw from the Unity Stamp Company's April kit and just adored and wanted to create something other than a card. I saw a post on another blog about an explosion purse using dies. Since I don't have the dies I scored my own purse looking at the picture. Wasn't hard at all:) I cut a label from my Cricut using the Gypsy to resize and glues to back of purse. Punched two holes on top for ribbon and used Wafer Thin Fasteners (Peel and Stick Premated Ovals) from Velcro to secure the front. The glasses are a separate stamp (there are actually three) from the chick. I would show the inside but am still not sure how to decorate so will add to post later. Happy Monday!!

Fine Feathered Friends

Unity's new challenge is to use birds in your project. There are so many to choose from so I may be making several items! The first is just a fun card with alot of fussy cutting( the birds),
paper piecing and dimension.

I ended up using five Unity stamps- wow! Sorry I don't know all kits without going to the Unity site and writing them all down:) Have a beautiful Easter; He is risen!!!

Unity Fashion Forward Challenge

Unity challenge #2 is all about fashion. Well... since I am not a fashion diva but do enjoy bling, I will play along:) I guess the sentiment says what I feel about fashion; Just Be You! I stamped both the sentiment and image in black then immediately covered with super fine glitter and let dry then brushed off the excess. It was hard to capture it real well on camera but I loved the effect. And you know what? I wouldn't mind a tank top that said Live Laugh Love in sparkles!

Carrots!!!!

Hmmm... wonder if Anne Shirley would mind these carrots... My mom gave me some cones and I immediately thought of carrots for Easter. I did save three for possible Christmas trees! These were super simple; just covered each with paper and used either ribbon or paper for the greens. Very whimsical and cheerful. Now I just have to make some eggs to go with:) And maybe some bunnies and chicks. Christ is risen!
